Chapter 29, Dammit!!!
Chapter 29?
They lay together for some time, the light from outside fading further and further. Dismas, not wanting any of his problems to interrupt the evening, got up to light a candle when the shadows had barely turned solid on the wall, and looked so abashed after doing it that Claville merely drew him back to bed and soothed him with embraces and kisses.
Before he could ask, Dismas squeezed his hand once, gently, and murmured, “That’s one of the troubles.”
Claville nodded in understanding.
